It is hard to believe this is a county course. Mee Kwon has some of the largest tee boxes I've ever seen, a few nearly olympic-swimming-pool-sized sand traps, and beautiful large greens. Water comes into play on only one hole. The clubhouse sits atop a moderate hill, and the course plays out and back and around to fine effect. While there are no dramatic raised tees, no precipitous chasms or blind fairways, there are fine vistas of Southern Ozaukee County scenery. (On a clear day you may likely see the steeples of Holy Hill in Washington Couunty!) This makes the course especially gorgeous to play in the fall.
A generally fair smattering of trees separate fairways, but the rough is generally groomed enough that even the most casual duffer can generally play the course and not lose a ball (unless they put one in the aforementioned drink on #3.) Most of the course plays quite straightforward, though there are a fine doglegs.
Just about the only downside I've ever found is that it is immediately adjacent to Fromm Family Foods, a "fifth-generation family-owned and operated artisan pet food company". When the wind is from any Southerly or Westerly direction (which is most of the time), you will likely smell the meat-processing/rendering as you play a few of the holes nearest it.
Bottom line, this is a course I look forward to playing each year.
